THE DEBATE ON CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

THE DEBATE ON CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

The Arguments on corporate social responsibility was over a long years. If the CSR were widely accepted then would not be labelled as CSR because they are doing it. The debate constitutes many ‘for and against’ the CSR and wide variety of definition in the view of people towards CSR. The companies argue that there is a human rights case against CSR, where it deprives the shareholders approach. It deprives the shareholders property rights. But in response to the above argument, CSR is about building relationships with customers, about attracting and retaining talented staff, about managing risk, and about assuring reputation. The Companies says that they don’t have time to do CSR activities they have to concentrate on core business. But they forgot the thing that CSR influence the customers. In one of the debate it has been said that why corporation has to spend money for the welfare of the community .The companies argued against the government for the purpose of development, government had imposed tax. In later case, it argues, why we have to again spend money for the companies? It is the duty of governments and not us. When we had pay in the form of tax. Some says that CSR nothing more than distraction and mostly irrelevant to the company. In one of the debate argued that the solution to companies' ills is good governance and better management, not CSR. "CSR becomes a smokescreen for companies to hide business conflicts, and therefore, becomes rhetoric," he said. "We have been teaching good management in business schools for years. CSR is not the solution." In the counter, Milton Friedman's arguments, in today's "flat world" where we are all employees, consumers, and capitalists, this no longer holds true. The problem, he said, is the way the language of corporate social responsibility has been constructed, creating confusion because of a lack of widely agreed upon clarity. These are some of the arguments and confusion of the CSR.In conclusion to the above CSR is important for the welfare of the community by this india's economic condition would be far more better than before.
